What changed 1

Every tool that appeared, vanished or quietly changed what it asks for. Recorded since 6 November 2026. No other catalogue keeps this.

ShareNotes missed one check this week

Everything else answered, so this is steady rather than shaky. We check every 15 minutes, which is how a one-off gets told apart from the start of a pattern, and how you hear about the next one within the hour instead of from your users.

note
create_note
Publish text as a note on sharenotes.dev and get back a short, human-readable link (like https://sharenotes.dev/blue-fox-42) to give to a person. Use it when the user wants to share text, code, logs or instructions with someone else, or move text to another device. Anyone with the link can read the note, and notes are stored on the server, not end-to-end encrypted — never use it for passwords, API keys or other secrets. The note expires after 7 days unless you set expiresIn. Set burnAfterRead for a note that is destroyed the first time a person opens it. Returns the link and the expiry time.
read_note
Read the text of a note on sharenotes.dev, given its link (https://sharenotes.dev/blue-fox-42) or just its name (blue-fox-42). Use it when the user gives you a ShareNotes link and asks about its contents. Returns plain text: notes written in the ShareNotes web editor are converted from HTML. It does not open PIN-protected notes, and it does not open delete-after-reading notes, because opening one destroys it — for those, ask the user to open the link in a browser.

ShareNotes — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can ShareNotes do?
It exposes 2 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: create_note, read_note. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is ShareNotes working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 483 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect ShareNotes?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does ShareNotes need an API key?
No. ShareNotes completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 2 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is ShareNotes?
It answers our handshake in 483 ms on average, which is faster than 25% of all working MCP servers we measure. That is on the slow side — worth knowing if the tool sits inside an interactive loop. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
