Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

claim
get_claim_reminder
Calendar reminder for the last day to claim a price drop. Returns a calendar file (.ics) with an all-day event on the store's last claim day, how to claim and the policy link, with alerts 3 days before and on the day. Nothing is stored. check_price_drop_claim gives this link as add_to_calendar when purchase_date is given and a claim is likely.
price
check_price_drop_claim
Can I get the difference back? For requests like "I bought a TV at Best Buy 9 days ago for $499 and it's $449 now, can I get the difference?". Says whether a claim is likely (likely, likely_if_member, unlikely, check or no_drop), the amount, and the steps. With an item name it adds a Cheapest Price link and Amazon and eBay links to check today's price. Likely claims also get claim_message, ready to paste into the store's chat or email. policy.refund_paid_as flags stores that pay store credit (Newegg)
store
get_store_policy
A store's price adjustment and price match policy. For requests like "does Target do price matching?", "does John Lewis refund if the price drops?", "Currys price promise", "what's Best Buy's price adjustment policy?", "will Costco refund the difference?". With an item name it adds links to check today's price.
stores
list_stores
Every store covered, plus card price protection. For requests like "which stores give you money back if the price drops?" or "does my credit card have price protection?". With country=GB, lists the UK policies.

Price Drop Back — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Price Drop Back do?
It exposes 4 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: check_price_drop_claim, get_claim_reminder, get_store_policy, list_stores. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Price Drop Back working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 92 of 92 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 29 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Price Drop Back?
Copy the ready config from this page — we generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each with the file path that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Price Drop Back need an API key?
No. Price Drop Back completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 4 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Price Drop Back?
It answers our handshake in 29 ms on average, which is faster than 99% of all working MCP servers we measure. That puts it in the quick quarter of the ecosystem. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
Is Price Drop Back open source?
Yes — it is published under the MIT licence, written in JavaScript and 0 stars on GitHub. The source link is on this page, so you can read exactly what it does with your data before you connect it.
