Put your own values in place of <OPENAI_ADS_API_KEY> (Advertiser API key from Ads Manager settings. Scoped to one ad account. Keep it secret), <OPENAI_ADS_ACCOUNT_ID> (The adacct_ ID the key belongs to. The only account the server will use). The author’s registry entry marks them as required.

Optional settings from the registry entry, left out of the block above: OPENAI_ADS_ENABLE_WRITES (true exposes the write tools. Defaults to false. Writes preview before applying), OPENAI_ADS_ENABLE_ACTIVATION (true allows activation, which can spend budget. Requires writes. Defaults to false).

ChatGPT Ads — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

Why is there no uptime for ChatGPT Ads?
ChatGPT Ads runs on your own machine over stdio — there is no network address to reach, so uptime cannot be measured for it by anyone. What can be measured is adoption: the npm package @getmcpads/chatgpt-ads-mcp-server.
How do I connect ChatGPT Ads?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It runs locally, so the command pulls @getmcpads/chatgpt-ads-mcp-server straight from npm; nothing to host, nothing to sign up for.
Is ChatGPT Ads open source?
Yes — it is published under the Apache-2.0 licence, written in TypeScript and 0 stars on GitHub. The source link is on this page, so you can read exactly what it does with your data before you connect it.
