shipslip_create_policy

BUYS INSURANCE: creates a live policy for one shipment at its declared value. Call only when the user asks to insure this exact shipment, after a quote from shipslip_quote_insurance. Set confirm_purchase to true only after the user approves the premium. Keep the returned id as policy_id for shipslip_file_claim. ShipSlip API: POST /v1/insurance/policy.

shipslip_file_claim

FILES A CLAIM on an active policy from shipslip_create_policy. Call only when the user asks to file this claim. Set confirm_filing to true only after the user approves it. Send policy_id, or tracking_number to use the latest active policy for it. Lost and missing claims need trace_initiated_date and 20 days after the ship date; ShipSlip returns days_remaining when the claim is early. Photos and documents are added in ShipSlip Dashboard > Protect. ShipSlip API: POST /v1/insurance/claims.

shipslip_quote_insurance

Quote the insurance premium for one declared value. Creates nothing and charges nothing. The premium is $1 per $100 of declared value, rounded up, with coverage capped at $1000. ShipSlip API: POST /v1/insurance/quote.
