Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

company
get_company
Get one company and all its rounds
get_company_contacts
People to contact at a company, with confirmed work emails. The founders we list, then decision makers (founders, C-level, VPs, directors), each with a work email confirmed by checking the mailbox, and the addresses the company publishes on its site. Never personal Gmail or Yahoo addresses, and never anyone who opted out. One lookup is one company for your account; the same company again within 30 days is free. Pro includes 50 a month, Max 100, a free key 3 in total; after that $1 per company from a pay as you go balance (402 contacts_quota when there is none). Results are cached for 30 days and never published.
market
get_market_map
Compare recent capital deployment by industry. Aggregates disclosed rounds with a known USD amount by industry. It returns recent and preceding-window capital, recent stage mix, annual history, and the three companies with the most recorded capital in each industry. Capital leaders are not return, revenue, or exit rankings.
list_market_map_companies
Inspect the companies counted in a market-map industry, or across all of them. Returns active companies with a disclosed USD round in the selected window, industry, crypto scope, and round-stage scope. A company appears once, with its qualifying-round total.
accelerator
get_accelerator
One accelerator's companies. The program, its batches, and its companies newest batch first.
accelerators
list_accelerators
Accelerator programs. Every accelerator program with its company count, number of batches, newest batch and what its companies have raised in rounds that link to a source.
acquisitions
list_acquisitions
List recent acquisitions. Acquisitions, most recently announced first (deals without a date last). Acquisitions are not funding rounds: they are never in `/api/v1/rounds`, company raise amounts or any capital total. A price is returned only with `price_source_url`, the article that states it; deals whose price was not disclosed publicly have `price_usd: null`. Unknown query parameters are rejected with 400.
categories
list_categories
List categories with capital raised. Every category (finer than industry, e.g. prediction-markets) with its company count, companies with a sourced raise, total sourced capital raised, and the most recent raise. Categories are assigned by keyword rules over each company's description.
category
get_category
Companies in a category, ranked. Companies in one category with total sourced capital raised, first raise and most recent raise. sort=raised (default) ranks by total raised; sort=first lists who raised first; sort=latest lists the most recent raises first.
companies
list_companies
List companies. Active companies, newest first by default. Unknown query parameters are rejected with 400. `amount_usd`, `min_raise`, and `sort=raise` refer to the company's latest round.
firm
get_pe_firm
A private equity firm and the companies it bought. One private equity firm: its profile from the Fundraising Fox Open Dataset, every acquisition on Recent Funding it made (newest first, as in `/api/v1/acquisitions`; a price only with the article that states it), and firms that invest in the same sectors. An unknown slug returns a 404.
firms
list_pe_firms
List private equity firms. Private equity firms: every firm the Fundraising Fox Open Dataset (CC BY 4.0) types as private equity, with headquarters, founding year, stages, sectors and check size (only with its source), and firms it lacks or types otherwise that Recent Funding checked by hand or found through their own website or public description (their own public facts only). Each comes with the acquisitions on Recent Funding whose buyer matched the firm (its website, exact name or a hand-checked alias), its portfolio companies' add-ons and its take-privates. Most recent acquisition first by default. Acquisitions are not funding rounds. The same list is at /pe-firms/. Unknown query parameters are rejected with 400.
founders
list_founders
Founders and operators. People on record at active companies, one row per person-company link, each with their role, picture (`avatar`, from X or LinkedIn, kept only when the profile name matches), links, the page they were found on, their researched profile and archetype when they have one, the company's latest stage, category and headquarters, and the person's other companies (serial founders). The filters are the ones on /founders/. scope=all (default), crypto or founders (roles naming a founder).
funds
list_funds
List new venture capital funds. New venture capital funds, most recently announced first, from the list of new VC funds Shai Goldman (Brex) compiles in a public sheet (credited in `credit`) and from fund announcements in the press (a fund is listed from the press only when the article states its size). A fund's size is returned only with `amount_source_url`: the press article or post that states it (`amount_via: press`), or, where none was found, the public fund list itself (`amount_via: fund-list`). Sizes a source contradicts, targets that were not closes and implausible sizes are `null`, as are fund numbers a source contradicts. Funds are investors' own capital, not startup rounds: they are never in `/api/v1/rounds` or any capital total. The same list is at /funds/. Unknown query parameters are rejected with 400.
investor
get_investor
One investor's portfolio. The investor, its portfolio companies (latest deal first, with the round it joined), its top categories, how its deals split by stage and by year (`allocation`), and its most frequent co-investors. When the investor matches a firm in the Fundraising Fox Open Dataset (CC BY 4.0), `profile` carries the firm type, headquarters, founded year, stages, sectors, check size and track-record counts, and `fund_returns` lists its funds' net IRR, TVPI and DPI as reported by LPs; both are null or empty otherwise. `funds_raised` lists the venture funds the firm raised (each a Fund, as in `/api/v1/funds`), newest first; empty when none is on the list. `team`, `limited_partners` and `positions` are researched facts about the firm, each with the public page that states it (`source_url`): its people (partners and employees, current and former, with their X and LinkedIn profiles), the limited partners that have publicly disclosed a commitment to its funds, and the token and liqu
investors
list_investors
Investor leaderboard. Investors ranked by deals in the last 12 months (default), portfolio size, capital in their rounds (total sourced size of rounds they joined, not their own check) or most recent deal. type=funds (default), accelerators or all.
landscape
get_landscape
A market landscape by segment, with every company's rounds. Every company of a landscape in exactly one segment: exchanges and platforms, sports event contracts, infrastructure and oracles, analytics and data, trading tools, social apps, and the adjacent sports-betting and odds-tool segment (not part of the category, not counted in its totals). Each company has its website, a short description, its total sourced raise, its latest round and all its dated rounds; amount_usd is set only with the source that states it. `segment_source` says whether the segment was reviewed by hand (`reviewed`) or read from the description of a company not reviewed yet (`rule`).
landscapes
list_landscapes
List market landscapes. Each landscape (a category's whole market, such as `prediction-markets`) with its segments, their company counts and sourced capital, and the adjacent segment's totals kept apart. Takes no parameters.
leaderboard
get_leaderboard
Rank companies on one metric. One ranked list per metric; there is no combined score. Only companies with a value and a source link for that metric are ranked, and `sample_size` counts all of them. Ties share a rank (1, 2, 2, 4). `raised_ytd` sums the company's rounds announced in `year` (up to today for the current year) that have an amount and a source URL, and returns those rounds. Unknown query parameters are rejected with 400. `gained_ytd` needs two sourced valuations, so it ranks far fewer companies than `raised_ytd`; `sample_size` says how many, and it is deliberately small rather than padded with estimates. Each entry carries `from_valuation`, `from_date`, `from_source_url`, `to_valuation`, `to_date`, `to_stage`, `to_amount_usd`, `to_source_url` and `multiple`.
rounds
list_rounds
List recent funding rounds. Rounds of active companies that have a known amount, most recently announced first (rounds without a date last). Unknown query parameters are rejected with 400.
stats
get_stats
Counts by stage, industry, and source. Computed from the same rows `/api/v1/companies` returns. Takes no parameters.

Recent Funding — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Recent Funding do?
It exposes 22 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: get_accelerator, get_category, get_company, get_company_contacts, get_investor, get_landscape and 16 more. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
What is Recent Funding mostly used for?
Its tools cluster around company and market. That is what this server is built to work with — the grouping comes from the actual tool names, not from a category we assigned.
Is Recent Funding working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 30 of 91 checks got a reply (33.0%), average response time 383 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
The registry lists Recent Funding as active — why does it not respond?
The official MCP registry stores what the author submitted; it does not verify that the server still runs. We check the endpoint ourselves, and this one does not answer. Catalogues that copy the registry without checking will show it as working.
How do I connect Recent Funding?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Recent Funding need an API key?
No. Recent Funding completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 22 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Recent Funding?
It answers our handshake in 383 ms on average, which is faster than 35% of all working MCP servers we measure. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
