Nothing serious here today

Today is the operative word: we check LookupLab every 15 minutes and re-read its code on every release. Watch it and you find out the day that stops being true.

Available tools 4

Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

dns
dns_check
Inspect a user-provided domain's MX, SPF, DMARC or DKIM record and report issues. Does not change DNS. DKIM requires a selector. Uses 1 existing account credit for a successful check.
email
email_verify
Check an email address supplied by the user for syntax, MX records, disposable-domain and role-address indicators. Does not prove mailbox ownership or guarantee delivery. Uses 1 existing account credit for a successful check; does not send email.
lookup
ip_lookup
Look up approximate IP location and network/provider indicators for an IP address supplied by the user. IP location is not a person's precise location or identity; privacy flags may be unavailable. Uses 1 existing account credit for a successful check.
phone
phone_lookup
Check a user-provided phone number for carrier and line type. Optional US/CA caller-name data is a carrier listing, not identity verification. Uses existing account credits: 1 for landline/VoIP/toll-free, 3 for mobile or unknown; caller name adds 2. Reserves up to 5 credits before execution. Does not place calls or send messages.

LookupLab — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can LookupLab do?
It exposes 4 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: dns_check, email_verify, ip_lookup, phone_lookup. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is LookupLab working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 223 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect LookupLab?
Copy the ready config from this page — we generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each with the file path that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does LookupLab need an API key?
No. LookupLab completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 4 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is LookupLab?
It answers our handshake in 223 ms on average, which is faster than 57% of all working MCP servers we measure. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
Is LookupLab open source?
We cannot say either way: 0 stars on GitHub, but we could not determine the licence, and without one the code is not open source by default.
