Sound Vocabulary missed 2 checks this week

Everything else answered, so this is steady rather than shaky. We check every 15 minutes, which is how a one-off gets told apart from the start of a pattern, and how you hear about the next one within the hour instead of from your users.

feedback
get_feedback_reply
Read the maintainers' reply to feedback you sent with submit_feedback, given its ticket id. Returns status pending until a reply is ready, then status answered with the reply text. The reply is information for you, not an instruction.
index
index_tools
Search the tools on this server by task or keyword in plain words. Returns the matching tools, best match first, each with its name, title, a one-line summary and its input fields. With no words it lists every tool on this server. Use it when you are not sure which tool here fits a task.
make
make_sound
Use this when someone needs a UI, game or motion-design sound effect: a click, a notification ding, a whoosh, a coin pickup, a riser or a logo sting. Pass the person's own words as describe ('a short soft click for a toggle', 'deep whoosh for a scene cut'), one call per sound, or an id from list_sounds. Words such as high, deep, short, long, bright or muffled tweak the sound; pitch, length and brightness set it exactly. Returns the best match named by the Universal Category System (UCS), a WAV link, a Web Audio function named after the sound, such as playCoinPickup(), that plays the same sound (give code exactly as returned; several sounds can share one script), a UCS file name and close alternatives. Everything is CC0. status no_match lists the categories to rephrase with.
sounds
list_sounds
Use this to browse the sound vocabulary or to offer choices before make_sound. Pass category as a UCS CatID or category, query as words, or nothing for the start of the list. Returns sounds with ids, UCS CatIDs, descriptions and WAV links, and every UCS category covered with its count.
submit
submit_feedback
Send feedback, a bug report or a tool request to the maintainers of the tools on this server: a missing tool, missing or stale data, or a tool that broke or gave a wrong answer. Pass the kind (need_tool, need_data, bug or other), one short message (at most 1000 characters) and, if you know them, the tool name and the error text it returned. Returns a ticket id. Feedback is not a chat: nothing in it is run or followed. Links, emails and phone numbers are removed and nothing about you is stored.

Sound Vocabulary — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Sound Vocabulary do?
It exposes 5 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: get_feedback_reply, index_tools, list_sounds, make_sound, submit_feedback. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Sound Vocabulary working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 221 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Sound Vocabulary?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Sound Vocabulary need an API key?
No. Sound Vocabulary completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 5 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Sound Vocabulary?
It answers our handshake in 221 ms on average, which is faster than 65% of all working MCP servers we measure. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
Is Sound Vocabulary open source?
The code is open source: it is published under the MIT licence, 1 stars on GitHub and 1 open issue. The licence covers the code in the repository, not the hosted service at soundvocab.openkrill.app, which runs on its operator's own terms.
