Nothing serious here today

Today is the operative word: we check Travel Facts every 15 minutes and re-read its code on every release. Watch it and you find out the day that stops being true.

Available tools 3

Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

calculate
calculate_schengen_days
Use this when someone wants to know how many days they have used or have left in the Schengen Area under the 90/180 rule, or whether a planned trip would overstay. Pass every stay in any Schengen country with entry and exit dates. Do not use it for countries outside the Schengen Area, or for holders of an EU/EEA/Swiss passport, to whom the rule does not apply.
trip
create_trip_plan
Use this after you have planned a trip with someone, to hand them the itinerary as a real, editable plan instead of a wall of text. No account or key needed. Pass the stops in order with arrival and departure dates, and optionally things to do in each. Returns plan_url: the traveller opens it to see the route and save it to their own NomadPoint on iPhone, Mac or web (free). Give the traveller that link. Do not use it for bookings: it records a plan, it does not reserve anything.
visa
check_visa_requirement
Use this when someone asks whether they need a visa to visit a country, or how long they can stay, for a specific passport. Returns the entry type (visa free, visa on arrival, e-visa, visa required) and the permitted stay in days when known. Do not use it for work, study or residence permits; it covers short tourist stays only.

Travel Facts — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Travel Facts do?
It exposes 3 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: calculate_schengen_days, check_visa_requirement, create_trip_plan. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Travel Facts working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 155 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Travel Facts?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Travel Facts need an API key?
No. Travel Facts completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 3 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Travel Facts?
It answers our handshake in 155 ms on average, which is faster than 87% of all working MCP servers we measure. That puts it in the quick quarter of the ecosystem. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
Is Travel Facts open source?
We cannot say either way: 0 stars on GitHub and 1 open issue, but we could not determine the licence, and without one the code is not open source by default.
