Available tools 3

Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

demand
demand_report
FREE, no payment. The aggregate of what agents have told us they are looking for, most-requested first, with the categories nothing available yet serves.
food
food_by_barcode
Look up a packaged food by its barcode and get the fields that answer "can this person eat this?" — ingredients, allergens, traces, additives, Nutri-Score, NOVA processing group and per-100g nutrition. Data is from Open Food Facts, which is crowd-sourced and openly licensed: coverage is uneven by country and a product can be listed with most nutrition empty, so every response carries a completeness flag and missing values are null rather than estimated. A barcode not in the database returns not_found and is NOT charged. Costs $0.005 USDC per call via x402 on Base.
request
request_data
FREE, no payment. Describe in your own words the data you are trying to buy — anything, not just food — and get back whether we operate a service that supplies it, with the MCP endpoint if so. Every request is catalogued so repeatedly-requested data gets built. Nothing identifying is stored, only the words of the request.

MCPFax Food Facts — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can MCPFax Food Facts do?
It exposes 3 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: demand_report, food_by_barcode, request_data. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is MCPFax Food Facts working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 94 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect MCPFax Food Facts?
Copy the ready config from this page — we generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each with the file path that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does MCPFax Food Facts need an API key?
No. MCPFax Food Facts completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 3 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is MCPFax Food Facts?
It answers our handshake in 94 ms on average, which is faster than 92% of all working MCP servers we measure. That puts it in the quick quarter of the ecosystem. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
