land
find_land
Use when someone wants to find land or lots in Austin or Nashville that fit a need, for example lots where three homes are allowed, commercial land where apartments are allowed without a rezoning, dry industrial land of 5+ acres, zoning where whole-home short-term rentals are permitted, or Specific Plans whose ordinance bans rentals. Takes a ready-made view or a plain-English description of the need. Returns how many zoning areas and acres match, the largest ones, each with a point inside the zoning area, and a map link. Austin views: home3, sb840, co, interim, mfdry, ind5, hist, bsz. Nashville views: strok, spstr, ns, unbuilt, mfusd, ind5, hist, dadu.
land_at
Use when someone asks what they can do with a specific property or address in the US, or what it is zoned. In Austin, TX and Nashville, TN it answers in full: what the lot is zoned and what that means, how many homes the lot can take (Austin HOME rules, Texas SB 840 apartments on commercial land), what the zoning ordinance or Nashville Specific Plan says, whether a short-term rental (Airbnb) is allowed, the property tax and flood risk, with a map link and a printable brief link. For a Nashville or Austin lot, when the paid Lot File is on sale in that city and covers the lot, it also returns lot_file: what the cited file adds (documents read, rules computed for the lot, pending cases) and the link to buy it. Any other US address or point gets the free nationwide answer (status ok_free): the zoning district, its description, overlays, the parcel id and the zoning ordinance link, read live from the jurisdiction's own public layers where MapLedger's registry has them (tier B), or what the records show, such as a Texas county with no zoning authority (tier C). Every free line names its source. Takes an address with its city and state, or a latitude and longitude.
businesses
search_businesses
Use when someone wants a list of local businesses in Central Austin, TX by kind (for example dentists, coffee shops, plumbers), optionally only ones with no website listed or with a phone or email. Returns name, category, address, website status and contact details, each linked to its source record. Only Central Austin is covered.

MapLedger — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can MapLedger do?
It exposes 3 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: find_land, land_at, search_businesses. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is MapLedger working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 0 of 91 checks got a reply (0.0%), average response time 96 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
The registry lists MapLedger as active — why does it not respond?
The official MCP registry stores what the author submitted; it does not verify that the server still runs. We check the endpoint ourselves, and this one does not answer. Catalogues that copy the registry without checking will show it as working.
How do I connect MapLedger?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does MapLedger need an API key?
No. MapLedger completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 3 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
