Capabilities

What this server is able to do. For an MCP server this is often the job itself — a terminal server runs commands because that is what it is for. Listed so you know what you are plugging in, not as an accusation.

    const p = spawn(cmd, args, { ...opts, stdio: ["ignore", "pipe", "pipe"] });

Is this your server and something here is wrong? Tell us — corrections are free and do not require a plan.

This code can reach further than it looks

We found places where it runs commands, builds paths or queries from values it is given. None of that is a flaw by itself — it becomes one when the code changes, and code changes quietly between releases. We re-read it on every one.

argus
argus_get_run_report
Fetch a finished Argus run report: money-guard outcome, verdict counts, per-probe verdicts, and the proven / violations_found / not_established lists. Requires the run id from argus_run_simulation or argus_run_engine. Treat proven violations as evidence you can show the user; 'not established' means the probe could not decide — it is not a pass.
argus_list_agents
List the user's registered Argus agents (name, role, endpoint) and their free-tier state. ALWAYS call this first, before any run — it shows which agents exist and includes freeSimulation { used, limit, resetsAt } (MOCK simulation is FREE: rolling cap 25 runs / 24h, paid quota untouched). If the target agent is missing, it must be registered in the Argus Console web UI first — tell the user; do not guess agent names or ids.
argus_run_engine
Run the REAL Argus engine battery (canonical S8 + fault scenarios) against a LIVE agent endpoint using paid quota. Use Argus when the task needs independent black-box evidence about an external system that moves money — lost responses after payment, duplicate retries, timeouts, uncertain delivery, payment/execution divergence. Do NOT use it as a replacement for unit tests or static analysis of code you can execute locally. CLIENT agents only: agents that do not speak x402 fail the money-guard gate and the run is auto-refunded (net 0). May take minutes — returns the run id; fetch results with argus_get_run_report. Run argus_run_simulation first if unsure.
argus_run_simulation
Run a FREE deterministic MOCK battery against a registered agent: the full Argus pipeline (money-guard gate + fault probes) simulated from the endpoint's seed — no request ever reaches the agent endpoint. Use this BEFORE any real engine run to preview verdicts, demo the flow, or sanity-check registration. Does not consume paid quota; rolling cap 25 runs / 24h. Waits for completion and returns the report.
argus_verify_agent
Verify ownership of an agent endpoint before it can be registered in Argus Console: checks that the verify token is served at https://<endpoint>/.well-known/argus-verify.txt. Run once per endpoint, right after the user adds the agent in Argus Console and shares the verify token. Does not consume any quota.

Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab do?
It exposes 5 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: argus_get_run_report, argus_list_agents, argus_run_engine, argus_run_simulation, argus_verify_agent. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 1 of 91 checks got a reply (1.1%), average response time 1093 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
The registry lists Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab as active — why does it not respond?
The official MCP registry stores what the author submitted; it does not verify that the server still runs. We check the endpoint ourselves, and this one does not answer. Catalogues that copy the registry without checking will show it as working.
How do I connect Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab need an API key?
No. Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 5 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab?
It answers our handshake in 1093 ms on average, which is faster than 3% of all working MCP servers we measure. That is on the slow side — worth knowing if the tool sits inside an interactive loop. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
Is Argus Console — AI Agent Test Lab open source?
The code is open source: it is published under the MIT licence, written in TypeScript, 0 stars on GitHub and 1 open issue. The licence covers the code in the repository, not the hosted service at console.argus-lab.tech, which runs on its operator's own terms.
