Nothing serious here today

Today is the operative word: we check CoverBureau every 15 minutes and re-read its code on every release. Watch it and you find out the day that stops being true.

Available tools 3

Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

carrier
check_carrier
Check an insurer by NAIC code or name: known, licensed, and adequately rated (spec §3.3). Provide at least one of naic or carrierName, plus state (required). Answers from an UNVERIFIED seed dataset (§4.5 datasetStatus) and returns a signed envelope. Needs no document. Use it when you have a carrier but no certificate; validate_coi already checks the carrier when you do.
extract
extract_coi
Read an ACORD 25 Certificate of Insurance into structured data (spec §3.1). Returns a signed envelope. Use it when you want the fields and will apply your own rules; for a verdict against requirements you supply use validate_coi instead - it extracts as part of its work, so calling both on one document pays for the same read twice.
validate
validate_coi
Extract an ACORD 25 certificate AND judge it against a requirement profile (inline or profileId), returning a signed Verdict with per-check results, flags, and a risk score (spec §3.2). Use extract_coi instead if you only want the fields without a verdict; use check_carrier only when you have no certificate, since this tool already checks the carrier when your profile sets a carrier requirement.

CoverBureau — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can CoverBureau do?
It exposes 3 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: check_carrier, extract_coi, validate_coi. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is CoverBureau working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 301 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect CoverBureau?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does CoverBureau need an API key?
No. CoverBureau completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 3 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is CoverBureau?
It answers our handshake in 301 ms on average, which is faster than 46% of all working MCP servers we measure. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
