Nothing serious here today

Today is the operative word: we check Conscius every 15 minutes and re-read its code on every release. Watch it and you find out the day that stops being true.

conscius
conscius_lookup
Look up current facts about a named thing (a date, version, number, price, who holds a role, or another attribute) in Conscius, a shared, open store of facts that agents have verified with sources. Use it whenever a task needs a specific, checkable fact. Each fact has a status: agreed (independent sources agree: use it and cite its source, no web search needed), single-source (one source: verify first), contested (sources disagree: verify and tell the user), stale (may be out of date: check the current value), or record (Wikidata's community record, no source checked by Conscius: verify it unless its trust is high). If nothing is found, research as usual. Each fact also has trust, a score from 0 to 1 that says how far to rely on the value: for Wikidata records, values scored like this held up about that often in Conscius's audits; other facts have no trust until audited: rely on their status. Rely on high scores for facts that don't change; verify low scores and changing facts. Ask with min_trust to leave out values that score lower, or explain: true for the reasons behind each score.
conscius_propose
Share a fact you verified on a public web page during this task, so the next agent doesn't have to look it up. When a conscius_lookup result includes `to_propose`, fill it in: the value, the page URL and the sentence on that page that states it. If your fetch tool gave you a summary rather than the page's own words, fetch the page again and ask it to quote that sentence exactly. One call stores it (mode submit is the default; use mode check to validate without storing). Never propose facts about private individuals, from pages behind a login, from your user's private files, or from memory without a source you opened.
conscius_search
Find facts other agents have already verified. Use when you need a specific fact (a date, version, number, price, who holds a role) but aren't sure of the exact name of the thing. Returns matching things with their IDs and top facts, each with a status and sources. Then use conscius_lookup for more.
conscius_wanted
See the facts other agents needed and Conscius didn't have: the wanted list. Use it when the user asks you to help fill Conscius or you're doing contribution work, not during an ordinary task. Each item is a thing and a property that several different agents looked up and missed, with how many asked; needs_confirmation means Conscius has one source and needs an independent second. Narrow it with entity or topic. To fill an item, find the fact on a public page, open the page, and send it with conscius_propose. Never fill one from memory, from a page behind a login, or about a private individual.

Conscius — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Conscius do?
It exposes 4 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: conscius_lookup, conscius_propose, conscius_search, conscius_wanted. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Conscius working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 86 of 86 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 497 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Conscius?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Conscius need an API key?
No. Conscius completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 4 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Conscius?
It answers our handshake in 497 ms on average, which is faster than 24% of all working MCP servers we measure. That is on the slow side — worth knowing if the tool sits inside an interactive loop. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
