outage
get_outage_history
Return resolved outages published on the carrier outage registers required by the ACMA (Telstra, Optus, TPG Telecom for Vodafone, and nbn) by provider (provider_slug), postcode or state, newest first. For a provider that uses another network, the entries come from that host network's register and are labelled as on that network. Returns up to 10 entries, each with its source link; the offset parameter returns the next entries among the first 30. These are records of resolved outages, not current network status.
get_outage_status
Return community outage reports made on Wireless Choices for one provider (provider_slug), one Australian postcode, or a provider in a postcode: the number of reports in the last 24 hours and the last 7 days by issue type and how many reports the counts are based on, plus up to 3 of the most recent resolved outages published on the carrier outage registers required by the ACMA, each with its source link. Community reports are made by members of the public and are not confirmed by the provider. Providers are identified by the same slugs as plans.
compare
compare_plans
Compare two to four plans from Wireless Choices side by side on price, data, network or technology, speed, contract and inclusions. Each plan is identified by its plan type, provider slug and plan slug.
plan
get_plan
Return the details of one plan from Wireless Choices by plan type, provider slug and plan slug, including inclusions, current promotion terms and the link to its detail page. A plan is identified by its plan type, provider slug and plan slug.
plans
search_plans
Search current Australian mobile, prepaid, mobile broadband and nbn home internet plans from providers listed on Wireless Choices. Filter by price, included data, network, speed tier, contract and features. Results are ordered by lowest ongoing price among matching plans and each one carries the date it was last updated on Wireless Choices. Returns up to 10 plans, each with a link to its detail page, and the total number of matches; the offset parameter returns the next plans among the first 50 matches.
providers
list_providers
List the telco providers currently listed on Wireless Choices, with the network each one sells access to and how many plans of each type are listed. Each provider is returned with its name and slug.

Wireless Choices Plan Finder — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Wireless Choices Plan Finder do?
It exposes 6 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: compare_plans, get_outage_history, get_outage_status, get_plan, list_providers, search_plans. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Wireless Choices Plan Finder working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 92 of 92 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 137 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Wireless Choices Plan Finder?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Wireless Choices Plan Finder need an API key?
No. Wireless Choices Plan Finder completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 6 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Wireless Choices Plan Finder?
It answers our handshake in 137 ms on average, which is faster than 85% of all working MCP servers we measure. That puts it in the quick quarter of the ecosystem. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
