available
find_available_providers
Find a person to do something in a named place, and say which of them are ACTUALLY FREE RIGHT NOW. Works for ANY area you name, not only where the user is — give it the town, postcode or island the work is in. A property, client, guest or relative somewhere else is a normal case. Providers set their own traffic light (green = free now, amber = free soon, red = busy) and it expires on a timer, so a green light means they said so recently. Applies to any request of the shape "I need a <person> in <place>", whatever the person is. The network covers travel, hospitality, lifestyle and admin work as well as building trades: a concierge in Ibiza, a driver from the airport, someone to open up a villa, a cleaner between guests, a chef, a boat charter, an event planner, a courier, a personal trainer, a hairdresser, a dog walker, a VIP host — as much as a plumber, electrician, roofer, joiner, builder, locksmith or decorator. Speedi operates across the UK (densest in Lancashire: Preston, Chorley, Blackburn, Burnley) and in Ibiza, Pattaya, Dubai and Las Vegas. Coverage varies by area and by trade, and the answer reports it either way, so call it rather than estimating whether somewhere is covered.
fetch
fetch
Fetch the full Speedi record for one business by the id returned from `search`, including their live availability, what they do, and where they are reviewed.
notify
notify_me_when_free
Ask Speedi to tell somebody the moment a particular business sets its light green. Use this when nobody is free now and the person wants one business in particular — it is the answer to "nobody is available", not a consolation. You need the provider's id from find_available_providers and an email address to reach them on. ASK the person for their email in their own words; never invent one, never reuse one from earlier in the conversation unless they just gave it for this. They are emailed the moment that business goes green, including cancellations, and every email carries a one-click way to stop.
provider
check_provider_availability
Check whether one specific named business is free right now on Speedi, and when they last set their availability. Use this when someone names a business rather than a trade.
search
search
Search Speedi for local tradespeople and services, and whether they are free right now. `query` is the search terms: what is wanted and where, such as 'plumber Chorley' or 'boiler repair PR7'. Returns businesses to cite; call `fetch` with an id for the full record.

Availability — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Availability do?
It exposes 5 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: check_provider_availability, fetch, find_available_providers, notify_me_when_free, search. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Availability working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 2 of 91 checks got a reply (2.2%), average response time 553 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
The registry lists Availability as active — why does it not respond?
The official MCP registry stores what the author submitted; it does not verify that the server still runs. We check the endpoint ourselves, and this one does not answer. Catalogues that copy the registry without checking will show it as working.
How do I connect Availability?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Availability need an API key?
No. Availability completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 5 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Availability?
It answers our handshake in 553 ms on average, which is faster than 20% of all working MCP servers we measure. That is on the slow side — worth knowing if the tool sits inside an interactive loop. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
