Available tools 5

Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

commons
commons_division_result
Get the full result of one House of Commons vote: totals, which side won, the split by party, MPs who voted against most of their own party, and the names and constituencies of MPs on the Aye and No sides and those with no vote recorded. Answers "who voted against?" and "how did my MP vote on this?". Source: UK Parliament Commons Votes API. Use a division_id from commons_division_search; lists return up to 100 MPs per side, with party filter and offset for the rest. No vote recorded is not the same as abstaining. The official totals include tellers; list_vs_official_count shows whether the published name lists match them (they can differ by one or two) and members_in_both_lobbies flags anyone recorded on both sides. (cost: 1 credit)
commons_division_search
Find House of Commons votes (divisions) whose title contains a keyword, such as a bill name or topic, newest first, with the Aye and No totals, which side won and the tellers. Answers "did MPs vote on X and what was the result?". Source: UK Parliament Commons Votes API. Matches division titles only, not debate text; use commons_division_result for the names of MPs on each side. (cost: 1 credit)
commons_recent_divisions
List the latest House of Commons votes, newest first, with date, time, title, Aye and No totals and which side won. Good for "what did MPs vote on today or this week?". Source: UK Parliament Commons Votes API. Divisions appear once the Commons publishes them, usually within an hour of the vote; use commons_division_result with a division_id for the names on each side, and lords_division_search for Lords votes. (cost: 1 credit)
lords
lords_division_result
Get the full result of one House of Lords vote: the motion or amendment, Content and Not Content totals, whether the government won, the split by party, peers who voted against most of their own party, and every peer listed as Content or Not Content. Answers "which peers voted against the government?". Source: UK Parliament Lords Votes API. Lists return up to 100 peers per side, with party filter and offset for the rest; peers who did not vote are not listed. (cost: 1 credit)
lords_division_search
Find House of Lords votes (divisions) by keyword, newest first, with the motion or amendment moved, Content and Not Content totals, which side won, and whether the government won or was defeated. Answers "did the Lords defeat the government on X?". Source: UK Parliament Lords Votes API. Use lords_division_result for the names of peers on each side. (cost: 1 credit)

UK Data: UK Parliament votes — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can UK Data: UK Parliament votes do?
It exposes 5 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: commons_division_result, commons_division_search, commons_recent_divisions, lords_division_result, lords_division_search. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
What is UK Data: UK Parliament votes mostly used for?
Its tools cluster around commons and lords. That is what this server is built to work with — the grouping comes from the actual tool names, not from a category we assigned.
Is UK Data: UK Parliament votes working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 75 of 75 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 212 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect UK Data: UK Parliament votes?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does UK Data: UK Parliament votes need an API key?
No. UK Data: UK Parliament votes completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 5 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is UK Data: UK Parliament votes?
It answers our handshake in 212 ms on average, which is faster than 69% of all working MCP servers we measure. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
