Nothing serious here today

Today is the operative word: we check Artifact Publisher every 15 minutes and re-read its code on every release. Watch it and you find out the day that stops being true.

Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

artifact
get_artifact_state
Read an artifact's state. Shared JSON key/value state, synced to viewers across versions (page JS: ArtifactRelayState). Last write wins per key. Limits: 200 keys, 16 KiB per value, 64 KiB total. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.
set_artifact_access
Change an artifact's access mode without a new version. For accountless coworkers use public, not allowlist. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.
set_artifact_state
Set keys atomically; other keys stay. Null is stored, not deleted. Shared JSON key/value state, synced to viewers across versions (page JS: ArtifactRelayState). Last write wins per key. Limits: 200 keys, 16 KiB per value, 64 KiB total. Page JS: ArtifactRelayState.subscribe/set/patch; whole-value writes only. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.
update_artifact
Append a new immutable version. `expected_version` must match current; share link moves; earlier versions stay at pinned URLs. Optional `title` renames; with no `html` only the title changes. For styling, add <meta name="ap-theme" content="firn"> to <head>; call get_authoring_guide for themes and layout classes. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.
artifacts
list_artifacts
List artifacts in this key's workspace, newest first, with unresolved comment counts. Pass `next_cursor` back as `cursor` to page.
authoring
get_authoring_guide
Read before writing HTML: themes, ap-* layout classes, an example page, the snippet, size and sandbox rules. Optional theme (firn, firn@1) is validated and returned as selected.
configure
configure_workspace
Read or update workspace defaults (comments_enabled, default_expiry_seconds, default_artifact_title); pass empty settings to read. Platform guardrails are refused with an error: max_artifact_bytes, storage_bytes_limit, monthly_versions_limit, rate_limits, comment_rate_limit, publish_rate_limit, isolation, origins, artifact_origin, control_origin, storage_key_prefix, object_key_prefix, security_headers, content_security_policy. Not available in every workspace.
feedback
get_feedback
Read reviewer comments, oldest first. Filters: unresolved_only, since; version (default current) for anchor_status. Page with limit and cursor. Returns comments, unresolved_count, next_cursor. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.
publish
publish_artifact
Publish self-contained HTML as version 1; return a share link. Optional Idempotency-Key HTTP header. Limit 10 MiB UTF-8; larger on some paid plans. No network in sandbox; inline assets. Never publish secrets. For styling, add <meta name="ap-theme" content="firn"> to <head>; call get_authoring_guide for themes and layout classes.
reply
reply_to_feedback
Reply once to a comment (a second reply fails with conflict); resolve: true also marks it resolved. Anyone who can open the artifact can read the reply. Refused on revoked or expired artifacts. Returns the comment.
reset
reset_artifact_state
Clear all state, including board values; HTML is unchanged. Shared JSON key/value state, synced to viewers across versions (page JS: ArtifactRelayState). Last write wins per key. Limits: 200 keys, 16 KiB per value, 64 KiB total. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.
revoke
revoke_artifact
Stop serving this artifact (410 Gone). Cannot undo; viewed copies exist. artifact_id: id, slug or viewer URL.

Artifact Publisher — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Artifact Publisher do?
It exposes 12 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: configure_workspace, get_artifact_state, get_authoring_guide, get_feedback, list_artifacts, publish_artifact and 6 more. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Artifact Publisher working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 92 of 92 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 983 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Artifact Publisher?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Artifact Publisher need an API key?
No. Artifact Publisher completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 12 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Artifact Publisher?
It answers our handshake in 983 ms on average, which is faster than 6% of all working MCP servers we measure. That is on the slow side — worth knowing if the tool sits inside an interactive loop. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
