outpost
get_outpost_door_state
Get one brand's door-state document from its Outpost: for each of the five intents (menu/browse, prices, inventory, ordering, tracking), the assessed state (open, partner-gated, aggregator-only, or human-only), the sanctioned route if any, its evidence source, and the date it was verified. Brands: amazon, costco, dominos, starbucks, mcdonalds, walmart, target, united, airbnb, chipotle, littlecaesars, papajohns, pizzahut, dunkin, dutchbros, burgerking, chickfila, subway, tacobell, wendys, albertsons, instacart, homedepot, ikea, lowes, nike, ebay, cvs, walgreens, americanairlines, deltaairlines, southwestairlines, bookingcom, hilton, marriott, doordash, grubhub, lyft, uber, peetscoffee, kroger, bestbuy. Free, no API key.
outposts
list_outposts
List the Agent Outposts network: the brands that have an Outpost (a demand registry for brands with no agent door of their own), with each Outpost's status. Industry Leaders (status industry_leader: peetscoffee, kroger, bestbuy) are listed with the network — their doors are verified open and no intent is registered there. Free, no API key.
poll
poll_notify
Poll a notify token from an intent receipt for door-state changes at a brand's Outpost. Returns your registration (ticket, intent, received-at), the Outpost's current door-state version and summary, whether the door-state has changed since your registration, and the live demand snapshot. In v1 door-states are census-static, so "changed" is false until a re-census bumps the version. Free, no API key.
register
register_intent
Register intent at a brand's Outpost: declare what you came to do at a brand whose door is walled for that intent. The declaration is persisted and you receive a receipt: ticket id, queue position for that brand, a live demand snapshot, the door-state summary, alternatives for your intent (same-category brands with open or partner-gated doors), and a notify registration (poll URL or webhook). Receipt status is "intent_recorded" when alternatives exist, otherwise "demand_logged" — the intent joins the aggregate the brand team sees. A ticket is issued only if the intent was persisted; on recording failure the tool returns an error result (recording_unavailable) and no ticket. Rate gate: 100 registrations per caller per day, 5,000 per day service-wide. Free, no API key. Keep the receipt's poll URL private — it identifies your registration. At an Industry Leader (peetscoffee, kroger, bestbuy) the door is open instead: the call records nothing and returns a door_open pointer to the brand's own door.

Agent Outposts — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Agent Outposts do?
It exposes 4 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: get_outpost_door_state, list_outposts, poll_notify, register_intent. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Agent Outposts working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 0 of 91 checks got a reply (0.0%), average response time 135 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
The registry lists Agent Outposts as active — why does it not respond?
The official MCP registry stores what the author submitted; it does not verify that the server still runs. We check the endpoint ourselves, and this one does not answer. Catalogues that copy the registry without checking will show it as working.
How do I connect Agent Outposts?
Copy the ready config from this page. We generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each in the form that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Agent Outposts need an API key?
No. Agent Outposts completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 4 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
