Read directly from the server with tools/list, grouped by what they act on. If a tool disappears, we record the date.

gas
gas_get_current_price
Use this when you need current gas prices before submitting a transaction. Returns gas tiers and USD cost estimates in JSON. POST variant of gas_get_current_price -- same params passed as JSON body instead of query string. 1. slow: gas price in gwei for slow confirmation (~5 min) 2. standard: gas price in gwei for standard confirmation (~2 min) 3. fast: gas price in gwei for fast confirmation (~30s) 4. instant: gas price in gwei for instant confirmation 5. transferCostUsd: estimated USD cost for a simple ETH transfer 6. swapCostUsd: estimated USD cost for a token swap 7. congestion: network congestion level (low/medium/high) Example output: {"slow":0.008,"standard":0.012,"fast":0.018,"instant":0.025,"transferCostUsd":0.02,"swapCostUsd":0.05,"congestion":"low","chain":"base"} Use this BEFORE submitting any on-chain transaction to pick the right gas tier. Essential for timing transactions and avoiding high-gas periods. Do NOT use for swap quotes -- use dex_get_swap_quote instead. Do NOT use for wallet balance -- use wallet_get_portfolio instead. Do NOT use for multi-chain gas comparison -- use crypto_estimate_gas instead.

Gas Oracle API — questions

Answers built from our own checks of this server.

What can Gas Oracle API do?
It exposes 1 tools, read directly from the server on our last check. Among them: gas_get_current_price. The full list with descriptions is on this page — we take it from the server itself via tools/list, not from a README. How MCP servers expose tools in the first place →
Is Gas Oracle API working right now?
We send a real MCP handshake every 15 minutes. Over the last 24 hours 91 of 91 checks got a reply (100.0%), average response time 37 ms. The bar chart above shows every period we have measured.
How do I connect Gas Oracle API?
Copy the ready config from this page — we generate it for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code, each with the file path that client actually reads. It is a remote server, so there is nothing to install — the client connects to the address.
Does Gas Oracle API need an API key?
No. Gas Oracle API completed a full MCP handshake with us as an anonymous client and listed its tools without asking for anything. All 1 of them are readable on this page. This is what we observed, not what the docs claim.
How fast is Gas Oracle API?
It answers our handshake in 37 ms on average, which is faster than 98% of all working MCP servers we measure. That puts it in the quick quarter of the ecosystem. The comparison comes from our own checks across the whole registry, every 15 minutes.
Is Gas Oracle API open source?
Yes — it is published under the MIT licence, written in TypeScript, 0 stars on GitHub and 1 open issue. The source link is on this page, so you can read exactly what it does with your data before you connect it.
